How to access and use the LCD display menu
To access the menus:
- Press On Line button. The LCD displays “OFF LINE” and the green light goes out.
- For Main Menu, press Menu.
- For Setup Menu, press and hold Menu for four seconds.
To navigate within the menus and change settings:
- Press Eject - or Cartridge + to scroll through the menu options.
- Press Enter to select the desired menu option or a sub-menu option.
- Press Eject - or Cartridge + to scroll through the sub-menus within a menu option or the settings within a menu option. An asterisk (*) before the setting indicates that the setting is currently selected.
- Press Enter to select a setting. An asterisk will appear before the setting indicating that it is selected.
- Press the Menu button to move up a level in the menus.
To exit the menus:
- Press the Menu button until the printer LCD displays “OFF LINE”.
- Press On Line to enable the printer.
How to assign a static or dynamic (DHCP) IP address to AddressRight printers
To assign an IP address dynamically via DHCP
- Place the printer in Offline mode.
- Press and hold the Menu key for about 2-4 seconds to enter the Setup Menu.
- Using the + or - keys to scroll, go to Communication > TCP/IP > DHCP, pressing the Enter key to select each.
- Change Disable to Enable and press Enter > Menu.
- Press Menu until you are back at the Ready screen.
To assign a static IP address
- Contact your IT department to obtain an IP address for the AddressRight Printer, as well as the required Subnet Mask and Gateway for your network.
- Place the printer in Offline mode.
- Press and hold the Menu key for about 2-4 seconds to enter the Setup Menu.
- Using the + or - keys to scroll, go to Communication > TCP/IP > DHCP, pressing the Enter key to select each.
- Change Enable to Disable and press Enter > Menu.
- Scroll down and select IP Address.
- Use the + or - key to set each IP Address section, pressing Enter to confirm each setting.
- Once the IP Address is set, press Enter > Menu.
- Scroll down and select Subnet Mask.
- Use the + or - key to set each Subnet Mask section, pressing Enter to confirm each setting.
- Once the Subnet Mask is set, press Enter > Menu.
- Scroll down and select Gateway Address.
- Use the + or - key to set each Gateway Address section, pressing Enter to confirm each setting.
- Once the Gateway Address is set, press Menu until you are back at the Ready screen.
Resolve Address Too High message on printer when processing a print job
Issue
When processing a print job, the message "Address Too High" is displayed on the printer.
Cause
The following can cause the "Address Too High" message to display:
- The envelope layout does not match the media being fed through the printer
- Film and/or dust has built up on the sensors
- The carriage return setting needs to be changed to fit the media size
Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the "Address Too High" message:
- Review the address layout:
- Check if the address is within 1/8'' from the top of the envelope/media.
- If the address is less than 1/8" from the top of envelope/media, move the address down.
- Clear dust off of the sensors:
- Lift the transport door.
- Use compressed air to blow dust away from the sensors.
- Change the Carriage Return setting on the printer:
- Press the Online button on the printer. The green light to the upper right of the Online button should turn off.
- Press and hold the Menu button for two seconds until Setup Menu appears on the screen.
- Using the "+" (up) and "-" (down) buttons, scroll down to Communication and select the Enterbutton.
- Using the "+" (up) and "-" (down) buttons, scroll down to Line Termination and select the Enterbutton.
- Using the "+" (up) and "-" (down) buttons, scroll down to CR=CR+LF;LF=CR+LF and select the Enter button. An asterisk should appear to the left of the option to confirm selection.
- Press and release the Menu button until the screen shows OFFLINE.
- Select the Online button. The green light to the upper right of the Online button should turn on.
- Turn the printer off and back on to clear any remaining jobs stuck in the printer queue.
